"The nation's first and only minority-based business fraternity"
To unite bright minority students and to further develop them into cultured, ethical, exceptional, and enterprising business professionals
MU BETA LAMBDA BUSINESS FRATERNITY, INC.
A Letter from the President
It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to Mu Beta Lambda Business Fraternity, Inc.! My name is Bryson Shelby, and I have the honor of serving as President for the 2025–2026 academic year.
I entered Indiana University as a young student full of ambition but lacking direction. I
remember arriving on campus, feeling both overwhelmed and excited by the endless possibilities ahead. As someone who grew up the oldest sibling, I was used to figuring things out on my own. Things often came naturally to me, but I quickly learned in college that success doesn’t come from talent alone. It comes from guidance, community, and knowing what questions to ask before you even realize what you need to learn.
What I didn’t know at the time was that Mu Beta Lambda would become that source of direction for me. From the moment I stepped on campus, I was surrounded by bright, driven, and talented minority leaders who were passionate about creating impact, not just for themselves, but for their communities. MBL gave me something invaluable: mentorship, brotherhood, and a standard of excellence that challenged me to grow personally and professionally.
Over the past four years, Mu Beta Lambda has shaped my college journey in ways I could have never imagined. Now, as President, I’m proud to take on the responsibility of passing that same guidance down to others, to serve not just as a leader, but as the big brother figure I once needed. I am committed to ensuring that our organization remains a space where members are empowered, challenged, and supported in reaching their full potential.
This year, my vision is to continue building on the strong foundation laid by those who came before me. I will work alongside our executive board and members to expand our impact, strengthen our internal culture, and uphold the six pillars that define who we are: Kinship, Diversity & Culture, Professionalism, Scholarship, Community Service, and Sustainability.
Founded in 2012 by nine visionaries, Mu Beta Lambda remains the nation's first minority-based business fraternity, a revolutionary organization built to empower the next generation of business leaders. Our members continue to secure competitive internships, on-campus leadership roles, and full-time job offers with top companies before graduation. We are not just building résumés, we are rewriting history and building new legacies.
Warm Regards,
